Jordan’s Accusations

On Friday, CNN Chief News Executive Eason Jordan made a rather astounding accusation at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He claimed he knew of twelve journalists who had been deliberately targeted and killed by the U.S. military in Iraq. When confronted and asked for proof, he backed off the claim but never solidly recanted it.

Let's make sure we understand this. The head of a major news broadcast network accused the United States of assassinating twelve reporters. If this were real, it would be big, really big. So big, in fact, that CNN would have reported it already. That they didn't and neither has anybody else is pretty good evidence that Jordan is imagining it. Really, though, this is a truly unbelievable thing to be saying, and in front of some of the globe's biggest movers and shakers. Yet no media outlets, beyond a mention on WSJ, have said anything. I hope word of this grows. Jordan owes some apologies for letting fly unfounded accusations and then he should resign. Dan Rather only slandered the president with false reporting that accused Bush of playing hooky. Jordan is slandering the entire U.S. military and more by accusing it of multiple murders. But don't worry… there's no such thing as liberal bias in the media.

According to gaypatriot, one mean thing a soldier did to a journalist he didn't like was to make the reporter go back to the end of the line at a checkpoint. The horror, the horror! When will man's inhumanity towards man end?
