The Cat’s Name is ‘Gurgle’
Ted Kennedy has come out with a children's book called "My Senator and Me: A Dogs-Eye View of Washington, D.C." It's a dog's view of Teddy's legislative life in D.C.
The dog's name is 'Splash.'
Yes, the guy who famously drove his 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 into Chappaquiddick Bay and killed Mary Jo Kopechne, named his dog 'Splash.'
As if the unintentional, but funny, irony couldn't get any better, it positively pegs the meter with this note about the dog breed as pointed out by Professor Bainbridge:
The origin of the Portuguese Water Dog goes back many centuries, where stories of rescued fisherman evolved. Because of their unusual capabilities in the water, the Portuguese Water Dogs were used as couriers between fisherman's boats and became part of the crew, very often taking their share of the profit.
Oh, the irony! Oh, it's so delicious… mmmm… 'scuse me while I lick my fingers… mmm, yeah, I need a fork for this… aaaahhhhhh, irony.
