New Anti-Bush Posterboy?
An Air Force Reserve Lt. Col. by the name of Alexis Fecteau is likely going to be charged for vandalizing 12 cars with pro-Bush bumper stickers at Denver International Airport. The cops nabbed him by using old fashioned police work. They put out a car with a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker as bait, set up a video camera, and waited until somebody defaced the vehicle. Fecteau obliged them and spray-painted out the sticker and then painted "F*** Bush" on the side. The guy even had a little car vandal’s arsenal in his truck:
Inside Fecteau's 2001 Ford Excursion, police found a bin full of products, including a tube of Park Tube Polylube, a grease used for bicycle repairs, a spray can of Klean Strip Auto Strip paint thinner, and Krylon Textured Shimmer paint.
That's quite a hobby. He’s been charged with at least "one count of felony criminal mischief and at least five other misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief," but don't be surprised if he gets charged with more.
What will be fun to watch is what the anti-Bush crowd do with this. He is a high-ranking officer, after all, who is, clearly, virulently against Bush. If they can get their hands on him for some quotes, they'll do it. You can look at the DU forums now and get an idea of their reaction. To the credit of a few of them, several do decry the vandalism. Most others, though, like what he did and use a "vandalism is bad, but…" formulation. If Fecteau plays his cards right, he could do well on the lefty speaking circuit talking about what Bush did that made him hate the prez so much and how it drove him to “express†his feelings in such a manner. (Ya gotta include the touchy-feely terms, ya know.)

Gosh, I know, let’s all be right wing nazis and let the media hang him out to dry, let’s try him in the court of public opinion before he has a chance at due process — I mean an 18+ year combat veteran doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt for a minute does he? I know, let’s ask the treasonous chicken hawk in chief with his master puppeteer rove? Or is this all part of the distraction game of missing white folk, tornados and child molester coverage the right seems to enjoy while they rape the country into bankruptcy?
